okay i know it's bad to take laxatives too often. but what is the safest time period to take them within? what could go wrong if tey are abused?

Using a laxative occasionally isn't harmful but you don't want your body dependent on being chemically induced to have a BM. Your body will stop working properly & your body will become dependent on voiding this way. I would eat a good balanced diet with plenty of roughage & drink lots of water.

If you are having problems with constipation, you should increase your fluid and fiber (fruits, veggies, whole wheat foods) intake. If you take fiber supplements, be sure to drink plenty of water. Laxative abuse can lead to weight loss, malnutrition and bulimia (you do not have to vomit to be bulimic). Also, too much laxative use can cause your body to become dependent on laxatives.

if abused you can screw up you digestive system and laxtaive abuse is a sign of an eating disorder or severly constipated. eat other foods that have fiber i nthem or take a fiber supplement chewable . they actually taste yummy too. dont abuse laxtaives !
