As long as people do NOT spay and neuter their pets, the killing of animals will continue. I personally have raised boys to only kill animals if they will eat what they kill, and that include bugs!!
In all honesty, I think PETA goes way over board on things, and when they first came out they spoke for animals, but now, they just get to carried away with what they speak for. I do not believe in killing for fur, it's barbaric and makes no sense at all to wear animals around your body. We are no longer in the caveman days, but to promote porn, like PETA does is BS too!!
It goes from one extreme to another! I've done the animal cruelty cases for 4 yrs, so i've seen it all. It makes me sick to see what society has done, and not seen the laws changed. To see some get away with a slap on the hand is just insane. But then again, they can murder a human being and only do 7 yrs for it too. In my opinion, we need to build more prisons and keep them locked up forever.
Put more laws on the books for animal cruelty and enforce them better. Stop the importation of all the crap out of china, and protect what we have here!

You apparently do not live in an area that is being threatened by an overwhelming deer population. A population that has grown far and beyond the area's ability to adequatly support them. If there were anywhere in the state where we could send them, then just watch the trucks appear! We'd have those trucks absolutely stuffed with live deer! Take them, PLEASE!!! But, there is nowhere to send them. Every option has been tried from spaying/neutering, to feeding them stuff to forestall the breeding instinct. But these options failed after six years of trying; there were too many deer. That leaves hunting as our only option. We can no longer allow the deer to continue to breed without some control. One, we want some greenery left around our homes. Two, the more wild deer there are, the greater chance of disease. In fact, a plague of some sort is probably overdue. Which would get the few cattle owners left in the area all up in arms. Whatever disease in the deer would threaten the cows.
As for whether I'd eat them, yes. I would eat deer, because they are so plentiful. And I wouldn't feel bad because that would be one deer that wouldn't be eating things in my vegetable garden!

Depends. In general, I'm not against it. I am against the things some people do to achieve it (how they kill the animals for fur and raise them- in some cases- for meat). BUT if you're simply saying the IDEA of it, no. I eat meat and I wouldn't be opposed to wearing fur.
I couldn't kill an animal, personally, though I am starting to get more and more 'keen' to the idea, I did start crying when I went out to shoot a deer (never did kill it).
So, yes and no. Mostly no, but we do do some things wrong in the time before we get the meat/fur, in my opinion.

I've always felt terrible about how animals are treated for food, clothing, research & entertainment but I used to believe that there wasn't anything that could be done about it. For example, when I was old enough to understand what meat is, I didn't want to eat it anymore but was told that if I didn't I'd 'get sick & die.'
I no longer eat meat, wear leather or fur or buy personal care items unless they're cruelty-free. Most of the companion animals we live with are rescues & strongly encourage everyone who lives with dogs, cats etc. to have them spayed or neutered.
If people insist on eating meat, I'd prefer that they went about it like Horsegal-- raising their own 'food' animals so they at least have a decent quality of life & a relatively easy death. The vast majority of animals raised for food are treated terribly all their lives & it's all about profit.

I think it's horrible too! But i do not think that you should take it so far to be a vegitarian jist because of that. I dont think that you can "become" a vegitarian if you have already had meat. Some animals like cows/pigs/chickens are bred for that and i dont think that it's bad to kill them ( i still feel bad) but i try not to think about it when eating them. If you think about how they would have died in the wild it helps. but pets like dog/cat/horse and anything else like goldfish i think it very stuipid to kill them unless they are in great pain etc. Hope my answer helped

Wierd question, but here is my answer. Personally I do not like to kill animals, nor do I like the idea of hunting. I do believe if you kill an animal such as a deer, it must be consumed. That's the way I was raised. However You would never see me kill an animal, I believe this is cruel and sad.

Well, for starters, I'm probably going to get alot of thumbs down for this answer! We raise animals for meat for our own consumption and sale (includes cows, pigs, rabbits, chickens, turkeys, and ducks). Our animals are free range, and treated very humanely. When they are slaughtered, that is also done humanely. We also have animals as pets (including all of the above). We provide a service. People may not agree with this, but this is our livelyhood. As for raising animals for fur, this is what they are bred for. Are we exploiting animals? Maybe, but milking cows, raising chickens for eggs, even keeping animals as pets-is all a form of exploitation. You may not agree, but this is the harsh reality of the world. You don't have to purchase or consume animals products, but remember animal products don't mean just meat, eggs, milk, and fur-but also cosmetics, clothing, medications, medical advances, and a multitude of other things.

ok, lets look at it this way---deer hunting, if there were not a season for hunting them, their population would swell to staggering numbers. With so many deer, you would have more of them running into cars and being killed (or suffering from a broken back and dying from starvation), they would breed disease at a higher rate and slowly die from that, or, and i think this is the cruellest of all---they would outgrow their food sources and starve to death. I will always choose in season, by license, legal hunting season. This means i do not believe in poaching (shooting out of season), or shooting more than your allowed (1 per season per hunter).
All this said, i think bear baiting is cruel, i think trapping is an inhumane solution to overpopulation, and i do not hunt personally. My father and husband, and most other men in my family hunt, and i certainly benefit from it, but i choose not to. Each deer that is taken is put to use in that it is used for food rather than for a trophy

I think its horrible. I'm thinking about becoming a vegitarian because I love cows and pigs and every other animal. I just don't know why someone would kill an animal for money. They sometimes kill racehorses when they can't race anymore because they don't bring in any income!!
