To fill in the blanks:
angry/suicidal/violent/anti-social/happy/carefree/complicated

Sorry, I'm asking a dozen different questions at once. Basically what I'm asking is: are you the way you are because of the music you listen to or do you choose to listen to the music you listen to because it fits with your personality?

Both. I love the music I listen to because I can relate to it, it also in a way molds me to its form.

Well its a combination of many things. Begins with your parents and what they listen to, then as you get to being a teenager this is where people decide from peers what kind of music they listen to. If they are punks, they listen to punk music like myself. Emo kids listen to the violent/angry stuff and so on. I guess the answer is both from a course I took before graduating college, culture has so many guidelines of what everybody does so it depends. To answer the one with lines no its not true that your suicidal by listening to angry music, my girlfriend sometimes plays some really angry music but she is the cutest person on the face of the planet. the second part depends to what I wrote above. Hope this explained it a little better for your question.

I don't think the music I listen to determined who I am.I enjoy a variety of music styles.What I listen to is dependent upon what I am doing. I like country music (old and new), rock and roll,easy listening, folk music,ballads etc.I enjoy music that makes me feel good and has a good beat.I do not care for heavy metal, hard rock or rap.I find I just can't keep up to the lyrics with rap and miss a lot of the message.I'm a pretty easy going person, love my family and life in general. I enjoy different songs for different reasons, some for sentimental reasons (The Old Man by John McDermott because it reminds me of my dad and the song "Follow the Leader" because my grandson danced to it in a concert.).I like songs I can "sing to" the best

Hmm, I'm not too sure. I listen to a lot of J-Pop, but then I listen to Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy (a very major contrast from "Build God, Then We'll Talk" and "Just Melody" by UVERworld xD) I listen to J-Pop because I love anime, and a lot of the songs are anime openings. I'm a puffy-shirt-Ryan-Ross-liker/fan so I listen to Panic! ^^ I also just really love their style, instruments they use, and Ryan Ross :D I like Fall Out Boy because they're songs are very catchy and I love the style. Sorry if that doesn't really answer your question, this question was actually very hard for me to answer!

Oh, I'm also very shy and quiet, so I kinda listen to music like that, or sometimes the music with the lyrics I wish I could say to the people I hate ^^;

I listen to music that helps me get in to a better mood. Oddly though i think it they way we are built. music has influence no matter what the mood before. but music doesn't make a person. what make a person is your own individual style. what you define things for your self and not go by what people think as a whole and truly independent thinker. is what makes us who we are not what music says we should be. but some people do live the way a song goes and some don't. but it shouldn't make or break a person.

I guess I choose to listen to music because it fits my personality, if I have to answer your question. BUT I don't think that your music and personality always "fit" with each other and that it is just a personal preference.

You don't BECOME what you listen to or prisons would blast nothing but "I love authority" type songs to reform criminals.

The other flaw with this thinking is people (like me) who listen to a HUGE variety of music ranging from fairly melancholy alt-rock (Morrissey) to happy pop (ABBA) to "violent" nu-metal (Limp Bizkit) and even "goody goody" Christian music (I like a lot of Steven Curtis Chapman...).
