We have a lot of Asians here. Not many Japanese, a lot of Vietnamese, Chinese and Koreans. You will not be disappointed. The biggest concentrations are in Chinatown from Sharpstown west along Bellair and Westpark. But, there are also pockets in Downtown, Memorial, Sugarland and Katy. We welcome Asians as we do anyone else. Contact me through my website and I will help you if I can. Welcome.

The majority Asian population in Houston are Vietnamese with Chinese a close second. I know where Indonesia is and that it is a multi-ethnic country but you may run into people who have no idea anything about Indonesia. We a have very large China/Asia Town in the southwest side of town.

Regarding your practice. Houston has two medical schools (Baylor College of Medicine and University of TX Medical School at Houston) both with a plastic surgery residency program. I'm not completely sure how many resident end up staying in the Houston area but with 2 programs in the area you may want to check out the what the competition would be like.

Most of the Asian population is located in southwest Houston. The City of Sugar Land and the Mission Bend area is mostly populated with Asians. I am not Asian but I have lived in Houston all my life and I love these areas. It's a very mixed area with Whites, Blacks, Asians (Middle Easterners, Indonesians, Koreans, Pakistanis, etc.), Hispanics, etc. This area is truly a melting pot and a good area to live in. As far as a place to locate your practice, I suggest the Medical Center, West University, and River Oaks areas. These areas have people who are willing to pay big bucks for plastic surgery.

There are a lot of asians in Houston and the nearby Sugarland. The new Chinatown/Vietnam town is along Bellaire Blvd. A new Korean town is forming along Long Point. Some of the Chinese/Vietnamese supermarkets rival the size of Costco!

Houston is a melting pot of races, and has a large Asian population. Opening a practice there should be ideal, especially if you're a top-notch doctor.
Why don't you try researching information thru the Medical Center of Greater Houston.
