ive tried the smu online library, cnn, npr, news week/ msnbc, google news, and still no luck

Not really, but of what democracy are you speaking, the one in this country that is devoid of any constitutional rights?
The most powerfull of all countries that ranks number #30 in health care,the country that withdrew from the World Court of Law, the country that for the first time in history to unilaterally attack a sovereign nation against the will of the United Nations and the will of the people, this hallmark democratic government that you no longer can have a fair in election in?, well, you might want to look into another country that does practice democracy, good luck my friend!
