I'm currently 17 years old. I have a job, good grades and friends at school. However my problem seems to be whenever i'm in a conversation with someone i know i always look at the people straight in the eye, and it makes me think about what they are thinking about me. eg.am i starring at them?, I have a hard time smiling. how ever ironically i am a sales associate at a department store and i have no problem communicating with customers eye to eye. The reason i am asking this question is because my dumb attitude might cost me my job if i keep going like this. For example i am way to serious i try to lighten up but i can't make a joke or make people laugh. I can't even talk to a person and have a good conversation more then once because i'll just end up talking about the same things i talked about before.sometimes i say dumb things just so i say somthing. I know that if i was more humourous there would be alot more ways to continue a conversation, but i just can't think of things to say

Also somtimes i have bad thoughts and i try to cancel em out by just visualizing a white light cleaning the black area. This sounds dumb but i dont believe these things are normal. However these things thoughts dont come to mind if i am busy , only when i am bored.

Anyways my question is are these the symptoms of somthing serious or is it just shyness?

Also i am really clumsy and can't even do the simplest of things. I ask people without being frightened, but then i think about what they r thinking about me.

You could benefit from joining a debating team or asking the minister if you could do a reading in front of the congregation to improve your self-confidence.

Well you're over analyze things for one thing ,, but then again I'm sure you knew that , you worry too much , most people don't worry what you think of them their sure there fine , you should do that , Relax , think about how cold it is outside when someone wants to talk to you , Keep your mind on the crack in the floor , you won't be able to keep up with the conversation , but they will think you have a problem concitrating , instead of thinking you are too intense,,, people tend to forgive a scatterbrain faster then they do an over thinker , Just relax ,make some mistakes , don't be so perfect and people will like you better,,,,,
