a good place to find material for stories is to look at your own life experiences, including those of friends and relatives. A good story might be involve a signifigant event or a new perspective on a not so significant event. Be willing to ask questions of those around you. For example: Ask grandpa if he served in military and what is one thing he remembers. Ask Mom what was the first thing she did after graduating high school. Ask your brother what his favorite day is and why... Then use those ideas to write a story.

They say to write about what you know. How about a trip to the mall and how it involves the choices one has make. Should I stay in bed? Should I get up and go to the Mall. Wjhat should I wear? Should I go alone, or with a friend? What should we do after we get there? Eat? Hang out with friends? Arcade? Movie? Skate? Shop? You see how life is all about choices and could be very different depending on your choices. You could give a couple of alternate scenarios and then decide which to do, and why?

you can write a story based on your favorite animal, but, fictional, like to say if they start talking and try to take over the human world. something like that would be good. or you could write about someone being cloned with big tragedies.

Write it about a pathetic schizoid named Donald and how his insanity drives him away from all his friends and to an eternal fuckup Meredith who pushes hard drugs on him, furthering his kinks and accelerating his mental state to the point where he kills himself by doing the dumbest ****! For non-fiction, tell about your first time you _____ (rode a horse, went off the diving board, drove a car, etc)
For fiction, use your experiences and have fun! Do you like mysteries? Romance? Comedy?
