I am searching, for a small, clear, plastic case, capable of encapsulating, a corner block of four stamps, somewhat akin to a key fob, not a wall display. Ideally, it would be water resistant, and rugged enough, to carry the stamps in one's pocket without damage.

I don't want to permanently encapsulate the stamps, nor do I want to damage them in any way.

They are four stamps, all attached, from the corner of a sheet of stamps. They measure about 1.5" by 1.5".

What you are looking for is called a "plate block mount". This is made of two thin plastic sheets cut to the size of the plate block, th bottom is black, the front is transparent.

It is open on the top and on the sides. The bottom is attached.

You slide the plate block of 4 stamps between the two sheets and you glue the blak sheet on youe album page.

The best way to get them cheap is to visit ebay and search the the stamp suplies sub-category within the US Stamp category.

I don't know what a "corner block of four stamps" is (or how big that is, but you can find various sizes of those acrylic/Lucite boxes especially at plastics stores (like Tap Plastics, or their online store), and container stores (like Storables, etc.), and many at office supply or craft stores.

Those may be very square though so that the corners would be sharp and perhaps not suitable for carrying in a pocket?

Actually, are you looking for something like a "box" with a removable lid or other way to remove the stamps periodically, or just a way to completely encapsulate your stamps with plastic? If the latter is the case, you could pour your own polyester casting resin in a mold in two layers with the stamps inbetween (coat with white glue and dry first if they're porous), or you could use a clear self-adhesive sheet then fold it over both sides of the stamps and trim to the size you'd want, e.g. (or have them laminated at a place like Kinko's?).

Again depending on size, you might find something like that at shops that cater to philetalists or coin collectors too.
