My sister is having triplets and she wants me to name them all. She wants unique and not common names. There will be 2 girls, and 1 boy. I was thinking of these names

Girl 1: Tanisha Jolene (pronounced Ta-nee-sha)
Girl 2: Nivaney Anne (pronounced Niv-a-nee)
Boy: Haydrien Nicholas (pronounced Hay-dree-en)

what do you think?

Jolene, Anne, and Nicholas are good..... So how about

Taylor Jolene
Taegan Jolene
Tierra Jolene
Tasha Jolene
Tanner Jolene
Tayla Jolene

Nina Anne
Navaeah Anne
Hadleigh Anne
Tori Anne
Kaley Anne

Trevon Nicholas
Zander Nicholas
Aidan Nicholas
Blaise Nicholas

You could do Taegan, Tori, and Trevon..

Or something like Zoey, Zuri, and Zander

Or complete opposites... Aubrey, Reilly, and Landon

Ok, I am not trying to be mean or anything, but if you have to put beside the names on how to pronounce them... drop the names. Just imagine them going to school, college, work, getting married and having to keep CORRECTING people on how to pronounce their name? When I was pregnant, my husband wanted the girl name: Miramari--- Yeah, I couldn't even pronounce it!!!

I have a hard name and I have to correct people on the spelling and pronouncation of it: Janetta. They call me Jeanetta, Jeanette, Jenette, Janet and so forth. I can't stand to have to keep correcting people. Once I do correct them, they ask me why my Mother named me that and I just roll my eyes and say "Like I had a Choice??!!"

I don't want the triplets growing up and being mad at you for naming them names that can't be pronounced or spelled correctly. I am with you about having different names then all the original ones. Keep trying and If you like the meaning of the names, just see if there is another name that is better.

Congrats on this HUGE responsiblity!!! I would just write down all the names you like, put them in a bowl and draw 2 sets(first and middle) for each baby. Do it at the baby shower and then everyone can get in on the act. Which ever names are drawn the most, go with them. You get the last say so, so why not make it fun? Then don't tell anyone what the names are for sure going to be until they have arrived! Keep the suspense a bit longer for everyone!

Don't name a child based on what their nickname would be. Its pointless and ridiculous. A baby/child/adult should have a name they can be proud to say at any point in their lives to anyone. Do you want your niece/or nephew going to their first big job interview and then announcing their weird name?

Dump the names Tanisha and Nivaney and change Haydrien back to just Adrian/Adrien. These kids and the parents have to live with it, not you so be careful what you choose.

Jolene, Anne and Nicholas are nice names.

But if you regret naming your own daughter, why would you be as so bold to name your sisters children?

I would tell her to just go to a baby book or babynames.com
and pick out a few nice classic strong names names to be proud of.

And if you are going to call the kids something other than their names why don't you just name them the nickname?

I'm not keen on any of the "eesha" names. It sounds like someone is trying too hard to be 'creative'.

Jolene is OK. Anne is OK. The boy name is fine.
