I just had my first baby 8 months ago and now am pregnant with the second. I know they recommend like a year before getting pregnant again. We were using the bcp and everything so it wasnt planned but my husband and I are still happy about it. What I wanted to know is does anyone know what the risks are to not only mother but baby as well if there isnt a year buffer between pregnancies? Should I be scared? I am worried that my body wont heal normally this time or something could go really wrong during delivery. My first was healthy and beautiful so there is no history of trouble during labor. By the way I am only 20 so I know I am not at as much of a risk as an older woman would be in my situation. What am I in for?? :S

Should be fine!!

I know of many women who've become pregnant when their babies were 3,4,5,6,7,8 months old!! The only complaint they had was that they would have preferred to do one kid in diapers at a time!! And they're petrified of the college tuition bills!

Good Luck :)

I think the majority of the risk would depend on your own health and how well your body handled the other pregnancy. My friend had her first baby when she was 24 years old and was pregnant with her second one before the first one was two months old. She had a normal pregnancy, and both of her children are fine. One is now in 8th grade and the other one is in 7th grade. Take your vitamins, take care of yourself and keep up with your doctor appts. Blood pressure always seems to be one of those big things to keep an eye on as well. In two of my pregnancies my blood pressure was really bad and with the last one it was fine. Your doctor will know what to look for though and I am sure that you will be fine and have a wonderful baby. Good luck to you.

It all depends how hard your first pregnancy was. If you had a c-section than you'll be needing another one with this one because there are risks of the uterus rupturing if you go vaginal so soon after a section.
You're just going to feel a lot more tired and run down with this pregnancy. My sister has four boys, two of which are only 11 months apart, she was fine and both boys are fine. They're a handful, but they're all fine!
Good luck and congrats!

my baby was 8 months when i got pregnant with this one and i am also a high risk because of complications in the past.
my doctor isn't worried that it will have any effect, i've been in there once a week for this whole past month and they are all really happy about it.
she never once said anything bad about how my body hasn't healed or anything,.
quit worrying and enjoy your pregnancy.
hope it all goes well!

The first three of my mom's children are 15 months apart each--which means her first 2 babies were 6 months old when she got pregnant with the next. My youngest brother was born 3 years after the first three of us. Unless you're getting abnormally large with each pregnancy, I think you'll be fine.

I would say if you are nursing baby number 1 to really make sure you are getting enough calcium and taking care of your teeth and gums I've heard that the baby is going to get what it needs by any means and sometimes valuable vitamins/minerals are leeched from the mommy's bones/muscles/tissues... So, optimum vitamins, mineral and calcium is a must.... Be sure to take your prenatals and drink milk, eat yogurt and cheese as well as deep green veggies..Good luck

Just make sure u get enough food & nutrition as yr body is supposed to be in the recuperating stage....& now another baby is going to share yr nutrients same time.

Other than that , u should be fine.
