I remember when Ricky Nelson did a version of it but I'm sure he's not the original. Pearl Jam did a real nice version, too.

well the latest version was by Pearl Jam
but it was originally written and sung by Wayne Cochran & the C.C. Riders but that version had very little success so it was then sang by J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers who had the first real success with it.
