My 4 weeks baby is on Alimentum because she had blood in her stool before... and she's on that formula for 2 weeks already . Today she has blood in stool again . I thought the Alimentum is really light so my baby should not be bleeding. I called the doctor already but I have to wait until tomorrow to get her check up.

Babies who have suspected milk and or soy allergy are put on Alimentum. If your daughter is also sensitive to corn, she needs to be on Alimentum ready to use formula. The powder has corn in it and could cause bloody stools. Tell the pediatrician tomorrow if you are using ready to use or powder and ask if they think your daughter may also have a corn allergy. Their are other medical conditions that can cause bloody stools but only a doctor will be able to diagnose your daughters condition.

Best wishes to you and your daughter.

Did the doctor take a stool sample before switching to Alimentum? Blood in the stool *may* be an allergy to milk and/or soy protein, it can also be caused by bacteria or viruses. Not to mention other diseases.

Did you ever get an answer to this? We are having the same problems, and are waiting to see the pediatrician tomorrow to hear about test results he is supposed to have received from the samples we sent in to the lab.?

Did they run any tests to see where she was bleeding from. I would skip her regular doctor and take her to your nearest Children's Hospital. There might be an intestinal problem, which can be EXTREMELY dangerous.
