Hi jessie,
No, you can't put another betta or for that matter another fish in there, the only thing you can add are snails
And this tank is just about too small for even one betta, the recommendation is to have at least a 2.5 gallon tank with filter and heater for 1 betta fish
If you would like to have more bettas, you will have to go with the females, and for that you need at least a 10 gallon tank
you could put up to 5 females in there and 3 cory cats (bottom dweller), but you will need to put at least 3 of them not only 2, because one will dominate the other.
And also lots of live plants for them to rest on and hide
Hope that helps
good luck

you can only have one betta per tank, because they are very aggressive fish and would kill each other if you had more than one.
here's a link to a care sheet on bettas-it will explain that they are solitary fish:
http://www.petco.com/caresheets/fish/Betta.pdf
however, I have had many bettas over the years and of them all I have successfully housed one male betta with one african dwarf frog:
http://www.petco.com/caresheets/fish/Frog_AfricanDwarf.pdf
In another tank I have housed a male betta with two short finned pearl danios:
http://www.petco.com/caresheets/fish/Danio.pdf
and right now, I have one male betta in a tank with three apple snails:
http://www.applesnail.net/
however, under no circumstance should any betta be housed with any other betta (unless you are a professional breeder and know what you are doing, even then they can only be together long enough to mate and then they must be separated). Also, you should avoid over crowding the tank; because bettas are so territorial you should be sure that there is more than enough room for the fish that you add.
basic guidelines to follow when considering a tank mate for your betta are these:
1-no more than one betta per tank
2-never overcrowd the tank
3-no aggressive fish should ever be housed with a betta
4-no colorful fish should ever be housed with a betta
5-no fish with long or flowing fins should ever be housed with a betta
6-no fish larger than the betta should be housed with the betta
so basically, when looking for a tank mate for a betta you want a fish that is dull in color, small with short fins, and a good temperament...for a beginner I suggest snails of some sort then work your way up to another type of fish when you get your next betta (I did it the other way around, and I wish I had tried something easier to start with)-good luck!

One male beta per tank. They fight when you put them together and will kill each other (or try their best to).
