I agree with the poster who mentioned the Parental Controls. Both my Router AND my internal Internet Security Solution has these programs. My Router requires an subscription fee to be paid yearly, while my Internet Security Program doesn't requre any additional fee over my yearly subcription for updates. So, which would you prefer? lol
Also, my Router allows me to lock out certain computers either on my internal network, or external internet, from using my connection. I can lock them out permenantly, for a few days, weeks, months, or certain hours each day. This is very handy for use with children, young adults, and those I caught trying to hack my network computers.
My Internet Security Solution allows me to use several different levels of protection, which gives automatic blockage of websites, services, such as telnet, messenger, yahoo, etc, even Outlook or Outlook express, for different circumstances. What is adequent for one is too restrictive for another. One if for Employees, others for different age groups of children. My solution is Panda.
These programs are fine in keeping people from downloading and doing other items. I highly reccomend them. There are dozens, probably hundreds of such programs, either ones you can buy as just a software program, or comes bundled in other products such as my Router and Internet Security Suite. Just do some research Online and compare featrues and price ranges. You are sure to find something which will work for your situation.
Good luck and have a nice evening.

The correct and most secure way to protect your sensitive files is to password protect your entire Windows account, allowing no one else access to it. Just go to Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change an account. After you set-up a password then choose to make your folders private.
Now,if you must let anyone else use your PERSONAL computer (not recommended), you should set up a Guest Account for them with limited privledges. Go to Start > Control Panel > User accounts > pick an account to change > Guest. Not only will a Guest Account keeps your data safe from prying eyes, your computer will also be more secure as the limited privledge Guest account will not allow the inadvertant installation of any malware by others.
Good luck.

You can use a website filter to block the site. I linked to a free filter below. This should block myspace.

You don't need to install any software. Just follow the instructions here:
