We have had some disagreements with our landlord. Our rent agreement is month to month. And is just an oral agreement. Anyways, We have decided to move out this coming month, and have notified the landlord of our intentions to do so. Our concern is that the landlord might enter our house while we are away at work. Is it legal for them to do so?

If you are given 24 hours notice, yes. This could be more by state so see YOUR states rules and regs on LL/tenant issues.

Chances are that with proper notice the landlord has the right to enter in order to show the property to prospective tenants.

It's illegal..in most states for the landlord to enter without giving you notice. Law does not require you to be there.

Yes being on a month to month agreement cannot stop him from coming in to your home and checking on things.

If you have paid your rent , they can only enter for emergency purposes ( leaking pipes etc ) , but who will be around to enforce that ?
Best to put any valuables or banking info away / out of sight .
