Can anyone tell me if my computer, which I'm pretty sure is a
HP Pavilion Media Center M7250n, can use the Geforce 8600 video card?

no longer attainable. The PCI slot is only stable for different enlargement enjoying cards like modems, ethernet card, sound card, etc. yet TOO sluggish for photos. in case you elect to appreciate video games on your laptop, you have not got any decision yet to enhance your motherboard to one w/ an 8X AGP slot or a X16 PCIe slot (this is ideal).

YES, of course. If you have no use for the remaining PCI slot, consider the factory overclocked version of 8600GT. It usually has a larger cooler that could cover the space of 1 PCI slot. It would be a bang for the buck performer in games.
