Harry's dad, James, is a pureblood. His mom, Lily, is a Muggle-born witch. In Harry Potter blood status, if both of your parents are Muggles, you are considered a Muggle, whether you are magical or not.

Harry is a half-blood

He would not be pure blood, but he would be in between. He came from witch and wizard parents, so he didn't steal the magic as the death eater policy claims. However because his mother was muggle born, he could not be pure blood. Pure blood would have to be magical parents all the way back.

Jo made it so that wizarding families measure blood purely by the person's parents, so...

James (pure) + Sweet Ol' Lily (muggle-born)= Bouncing Little Harry (Half)

If Harry was a pure blood, his dad, mom, grandparents, great grandparents, etc all thru his history would all be magic. Since we know at least his mom was muggle born, Harry is not pure blood. However, I don't believe he is half blood. I think he's just NOT pure blood NOR is he "mud blood".

Lily Potter came from a muggle family. Remember her sister who is Aunt Petuna dispised Harry for being magical. And anything to do with magic,

So he was a half-blood.

a million/2-blood, it somewhat is the broadest term of blood status. The a million/2-blood could have a muggleborn parent and a pureblood parent (like Harry), 2 halfblood parents, a million/2-blood parent and muggleborn parent, muggle and pureblood, muggle and halfblood. Any toddler with accepted muggle historical past (at a million least grandparent) is a halfblood. counting on the quantity of muggle parentage interior the a million/2-blood area, the toddler may well be a squib whilst they're older. A halfblood could have 3 muggle grandparents and in basic terms have one magical grandparent, which might strengthen the possibility of having a squib, somebody with magical parents and no magic. they're the different of muggleborns, somebody with muggle parents and have magic.

Mudbloods are considered to be synonymous with muggles themselves in terms of measuring their worth or lack there of, so if you're born of a pure-blood and a mudblood, you're a half blood, simple enough isn't it?

After Rowling flubbed by calling him "half blood" she totally made up the rule that you can be pure-blood only if all four of your grandparents were wizards. Since only two of Harry's grandparents were wizards, Harry's half-blood.

It helps that Rowling is writing fiction, eh?

Actually he is half-blood.
His father is pure-blooded and his mum is muggle.

I don't think there is a part where it explains Harry's blood status
