they have that so they have these communications that allow the coaches to tell the qb the play, or in rex grossmans case, how to catch a damn snap.

The green sticker identifies the player (QB) has the sidelines communications equipment in his helmet. Only one player for the team can be on the field at a time with the equipment. So if you wanted to put a 2nd QB in, like for a trick play, he'd have to have a helmut without the communication equipment.

On all of the teams? It is probly a player or coach that died recently. I know the Patriots are doing that (as a team) for their player that drowned recently.

i dunno maybe its so the coach or ref need to spot the qb's quickly ??
