Yes, it is, it is supposed to apply to everyone on an even scale. If someone is mentally ill, those who know are morally obligated to get that person treatment and supervision so as not to be a threat to anyone, including themselves, and protect the greater good. It is not helpful to allow them to experience all their illnesses' suffering and allow them to commit heinous acts.

No, now, you are approaching this all wrong!
Murder is also subjective and does not always denote insanity.
What you call murder, may be a religious punishment or sacrifice in other cultures and many times the "victim" is even proud to chosen for this ritual.
It can also be a way of controlling peoples actions, ie., vigilante ism.
Just because you don't agree, that doesn't make you right.
Right is only what is right for the culture you live in.
Some cultures believe that breasts should be covered because they put a sexual value on them.
In parts of Africa and certain other cultures, they know that the breast is just nature's baby bottle and who in their right mind would be turned on by a baby bottle?

Sure, morality is subjective...! It is subject to the understanding of what is right or wrong! Subject to your values.
No need to talk murder...
Let's talk abortion instead!!! Just so you see how your idea of mentally sick is also subjective to your values/morality!
To some an embryo of just a few days/weeks is alive. So, to these people abortion is murder.
To others only after the fetus is reasonably self-sufficient it is considered alive. So, to them, it is just a matter of convenience.
Others may believe the embryo is alive at any point, yet it is a fair trade to kill such early life to allow for options to the well established life of the mother.
So you see, these conditions of perception are very different, yet none are under a "mentally sick" classification!
You may feel one of these views is mentally sick, but that is only your opinion.
Values are very subjective, including the value assigned to life. If values are subjective, then morals are subjective!
You can see this on many other examples of everyday life, but I picked this example to make it clear even your question was morally subjective!

So everyone agrees about murder? Even the murder of a fetus?
Morality is subjective because it involves rules which have to be interpreted. It's better when the rules are clear and the interpretation is obvious. But as shown by examples such as abortion, there are lots of situations where different people have different interpretations and therefore different rules.

No you are incorrect, which is a perfect example of how morality is subjective. In Western Judeo-Christian culture, murder is generally considered immoral. But in Arab Moslem cultures the vast majority of individuals (about 80% in Syria, for example) agree that murder in the form of suicide bombers is appropriate and in fact will guarantee the murderer a place in heaven.

it is objective only in the sense that different societies will have different moral views. so when wanting to be a part of a society, the moral views of that society are not subjective, you need to follow those morals or suffer the consequences of that society for not following those morals.

Yes, it has to be. Parents give children their values, hoping that they will serve them well throughout life. But there are situations that are very gray in life, not black or white, and it is up to us to decide how we will play them. So it is always subjective. Thanks for the good question.
