Does anyone else think that america needs another revolution? People don't care about politics anymore, the law is corrupt and favored towards the rich, powerful, famous, and white ( I'm white so don't start thinking i'm racist or nothin), I can't walk down the street without seein the homeless, druggies, gangs, violence, and just general destruction. WTF happened to the peaceful thinking of the 60's, Where did the love go?

Revolution has been happening all along. Things are constantly changing. When you aren't participating, it seems like nothing is happening.

"The Law," may be corrupt, but we are the law. We are the government. If we're just sitting back and letting someone else take care of it, then naturally, the law will favor those who care.

Do you know which group of people in our country are the most influential? Among the other things they do to participate in government, this group always votes in every election. When a whole group votes as a large block, it represents a powerful lobby. This group of active voters are also the richest and most powerful. Figured out which group I'm talking about?

The answer is Americans fifty and over. AARPers. Want to know about how powerful they are? Look at the breakdown of the federal budget and you'll see the largest items in there are the military, Social security, Medicare and Medicaid. These are the most expensive government programs.

Those people on your street--the homeless, druggies, gang members--are surrounded by a sea of capitalism. Capitalism doesn't set social classes. Free people get to choose their own tiers. A man can be homeless, with no job and no prospects. In a single day, he can make a simple decision to never be homeless ever again. So he goes around sweeping porches for people or washing windows. He clips hedges and helps people for a few bucks at a time. He makes twenty or thirty dollars a day. He squirrels half of it away. He goes to the library and learns everything he can about a trade. He learns to use a computer. He finishes his GED in a free GED program available through the city. Then, he applies for one of the five federal programs available to every citizen and gets into college. He ends up owning his own business all because he made a decision.

That's the revolution that is happening everyday in this country. The revolution of the individual. Gangs are made up of those who are willing to trade their individuality away for acceptance.

And let me say, as one who lived through the 1960s, peace doesn't belong to any generation, especially the 60s.

they're called SUV's...lol never mind that inside joke...

Can I ask you a question? When you see all these Homless people, druggies, gangs etc...what do you do to help them? we all have to take some of the blame can't jsut throw it all of on the government...as far as the government is concerned puttign them all in jail is a solution, and the public can pay for they're stay with taxes...If this is ever going to change the American people need to put more of the complining energy into the problem solving, action/solution energy...

The love went where communism and socialism did -- up the butt of capitalism.

But frankly, capitalism is a much better way of sorting out America than spreading free love. Less STDs, more self-love, perhaps more malcontent to poke us into doing something.

No revolutions, though. Too many apathetic folks around.

Well, unfortunately a lot of the hippies realized that money DOES make the world go 'round and they sold out. The generation that is in power now is the same generation that brought us "Make love, not war" & "Power to the people"

Makes ya wonder, was hippie short for hypocrite?

the 2 party system is quickly killing this country, it is not what the founding fathers intended. old rich white men do not represent a country as diverse as the USA. the electoral college should be abolished- the popular vote is good enough for me. we should have a no confidence voting system so you can vote no for every candidate instead of having to choose which is the lesser of 2 evils to vote yes for. generation Xers will see the demise of democracy in this country in our lifetime. this message brought to you by the sawtooth national bank.

Lol, it all went away when everyone got off the LSD's. Boy I miss those delusional days. jk
But I totally agree with you. You're right about how this world is focused on beauty and money and power. It drives me mad that good people with brilliant minds get left behind simply because they weren't born millionaires.

yes, our politicians definitely favor the rich of this country. they take better care of other countries than they do the less than rich in this country. we definitely need a whole new set of faces that think of all of the people and not just help the rich get richer. if you are out there and can do it, stand up.

We are in need of a total reconstuction of our government & society in general. Things are getting more and more out of hand, we need to start over, and we need to take action. 9/11 is just scratching the surface.
