Logic means that you have proven to the best of your ability the answer to the problem, while looking at several different options. Based on what you know what else can you learn and infer.

My answer is not logical? Its merely an opinion!

Two rednecks agreed that they weren't going anywhere in life and decided they should go to college to get ahead. The first redneck then went and saw an undergraduate advisor, who told him to take math, history, and logic.

"What's 'logic'?" the first redneck asked.

The professor answered by saying, "Let me give you an example. Do you own a weed-eater?"

"I sure do."

"Then I can assume, using logic, that you have a yard," replied the professor.

"That's real good!" said the redneck.

The professor continued, "Logic will also tell me that since you have a yard, you also own a house."

Impressed, the redneck said, "Amazin!"

"And since you own a house, logic dictates that you have a wife."

"That's Betty Mae! This is incredible!" The redneck was obviously catching on.

"Finally, since you have a wife, logically I can assume that you are heterosexual," said the professor.

"You're absolutely right! Why that's the most fascinatin' thing I ever heard! I cain't wait to take that logic class!"

The redneck, proud of the new world opening up to him, walked back into the hallway, where his friend was waiting.

"So what classes are ya takin'?" asked the friend.

"Math, history, and logic!" replied the first redneck.

"What in tarnation is 'logic?'" asked his friend.

"Let me give you an example. Do ya own a weed-eater?" asked the first redneck.

"No," his friend replied.

"You is queer, ain't ya?"

I suppose it was rooted in the school of the Stoics, which was be logical, endure pain well and accept that there will be pain in this world. I'm a bit of a Stoic myself. I was a math major in college and my geometry class spent a good amount of time on logic. Probably the best example in literature is Alice in Wonderland. I believe my answer to be logical because it stems from learned behavior and most behavior, I believe, is learned.

Logic means balanced and consistent use of words. It can also mean the systematic analysis of statements. My answer is logical because words correspond to their meanings and are used in a manner appropriate to the sense of the question.

"Logic" is thinking along lines that cross (or intersect). "If" a line of thought crosses another "then" it takes on a new direction. "If" and "then" (or therefore) are also the functions of a circuit board in a computerized machine and "therefore" they are called "logic boards". "Conclusion" is wherever those "lines of thought" have taken you. In this metaphor a "line of thought" can be referred to as an "observation" and every crossing point can be seen as a "realization" in that it takes you to a new "line of thought" (or way of seeing something) and from a new perspective (because a "line" always takes you from one point to another). If you have followed my line (of thought) you may now see my "point".
