we have been dating for 2 months, and as we are 2 hours away, we only spent weekends together. but as he is white, im asian, we have a bit communication problems, so we dont talk on the phone much on weekdays(he said thats the reason he didnt call me much on weekdays).
yesterday when we met up again, he talked about me moving in to his place, as Im a phd student, and he is working, he said its easier for me to change school, he said he likes me and wants to see how this goes, he said that way our relationship can move forward instead of staying still, if we just see each other on weekends, the relationshipo wont change. but he also said thats a bit risky for me, bcos he can't guarantee this can finally succeed.
what bothers me is i dont know how serious he is about the relationship, bcos he brought it up so suddenly, i think he merely likes me, why does he want me to move in with him?

I think he may be serious about seeing if this relationship will go. But I think that 2 months is WAY to soon for you to change schools and move with him. You have all your resources, professors, etc where you are. You would have to start those relationships all over again. How much longer until you get your PhD? You can work this long distance relationship until then. If he won't, then you have your answer to your question.

If you are asking then you have already answered your own question in your doubt about the relationship being more permanent. Correct? My mother always told me that if my gut told me something wasn't right, then I should listen. For you, my gut says I wouldn't do it. It is just my opinion, but he doesn't sound committed. And school for you is more important than a boyfriend. Keep focused on your schooling. When the right guy comes along, you'll know it. But in the mean time finish what you have planned -school, in case you need that education as the back up plan. Understand? Best Wishes From Minnesota!
