Well, ever since about May, I haven't had my period. I've never had sex. I have gained a little weight. played sports (exercise) ever since about 2 yrs. ago. So, I really don't exercise on my own since then, but I don't think that's the reason. I told my mom about it & she said she didn't have hers for a year, but I'm still a little scared about it all. I have been stressed though, because all summer we've been in the process of moving from out in the middle of nowhere (which I loved) to town. Another reason I thought of was about over a year & a half maybe ago I had to go to the ER w/ severe pain & they said I had 2 ovarian cysts (Cat SCAN). I ended up going to the Gyn. a month or so later & she did a test (not PAP test) & said I'm fine. If there's more problems I'd get this test (something like a pregnancy test where they can see the baby)... Since I don't use tampons. Now (a year later) once in a while a get pain from the cysts, nothin bad. But I haven't had my period for 4 months!

I abruptly stoped my period once, it lasted two months. I cured it naturally, because I didn't want birth controle (It regulates peroids) I started drinking one eight-ounce bottle of green tea a day and every other day I put honey in it. After I tried that I started haveing periods again reguarly and It only took two weeks. However you have to keep up with it, you can't just stop when you start haveing them again.

Fuze, Sobe, and Arizona all make green tea with ginsing and honey. You can drink those. All of them tast a bit like mint. (Mainly Sobe) Arizona is a little more bitter and Fuze is very sweet. Where I am a big bottle of Arizona is $0.99, Fuze is $1.10 and Sobe it $1.18.

I hope this helps. I don't want anyone to get a blood clot from something as simple as not haveing a period. (I don't want them to get one at all, really)

See a doctor as soon as you can. Though really exercising and a regular nutrituous diet helps a lot. I had the same problem for about 3 months (I was drinking, partying a lot, didnt really pay any attention to what I eat, whether it was enough or not and was stressed cause there were many things goin on in my life), I started exercising more frequently along with a well balanced diet, it turned out to be ok. I have had regular periods for over a year now. But to make sure its all for no serious reason, see a doctor.

Definitely go. Not only is it abnormal for you to miss your period for 4 months, but girls should start seeing a gynecologist at 18 or when they begin sexual activity (whichever comes first). It can be overwhelming and scary at first, but it's really not that bad. And it's a lot less scary than not knowing what's wrong with your body. I've been going to a midwife for the past couple years and they really know how to make you feel comfortable physically, emotionally and mentally.

If your mom said she didn't have one for a year, and this wasn't a result of her going into early menopause.I wouldn't worry.Did they remove the cysts or not? If not, then why didn't they remove them?
Just tell your mom you would like to have a doctor check you out again!
And it is always a good idea to keep a record of your periods, with little notes of any particuliar problems you may have like clotting, different colors, stomach pains. It will help you know your own body responses to foods, sports or stress you have.Every E.R. asks when was your last period, anytime you go.As well as helping new doctors get to know your body! Take care!

There are SO many reasons that a woman might not get her period. Not all of them are bad. But since you've already had problems before, and you're obviously worried about it, you should go to the doctor.

There is nothing wrong with it, and most likely your doctor will tell you that you're fine. But at least you'll have peace of mind.

I would go in and get this checked out cause if you ever do marry and want kids this maybe something that would effect that from happening and no need to worry till you know why your not ovulating if you don't you can't get pregnant anyway

The more you stress the more later it gets. Just wait i guess or go back to your doctor. I hadn't had mine for almost 4 months and it came.

you need to go back to the doctor. it sounds like something is going on with your reproductive system. and your mom needs to get to the bottom of it before it get worse. be very diligent about your health. if a doctor tell you something that doesnt sit well with you than go to another doctor. go and go until you are satisfied and have answers to your question. GodBless.

if you are still concerned go back to another doctor to investigate... if your mum had the same problem it can just be something in your genetics, irregular periods are common... but the rule of thumb is, if you are still concerned see another doctor until your mind is at ease
good luck
