Best explanation of why you liked the play is the one that will win!! I'm doing this simply to research new musicals I may want to see so I really want to know what makes it good.

I have only been to 3 musicals in my entire life.
The Ratpack Live from Las Vegas at the Strand in London
The Phantom of the Opera at HM Theatre London
Guys and Dolls at my nephews school
I saw Rat pack because I am a huge fan of Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin's music. I had seen the DVD release of this show and it looked fantastice so I bought tickets. The actors playing the roles were so realistic that you could have believed you were watching the real deal. Fantastic show. Highly recommended.
I went to see Phantom with my Girlfriend. She is a huge Andrew Lloyd Webber fan. I have to say that I had a great time, the show was enticing from start to finish and I left the theatre humming the songs.
Guys and Dolls was a school production that my 10 year old nephew was in. He had the role of Nathan Detroit. For a school production it was well done, it looked like the school had made real efforts with the sets and costumes and the kids starring in the show were very proffessional considering their age. There were the usual school play gaffs like one of the gangsters forgetting his lines and running off stage. The girl playing Miss Adelaide tripped at one point, but to her credit she didn't let it affect her performance. All in all a very well put together school play.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum
Musicals usually suck, but in this one the songs (Sondheim) were funny and the stage play clever. I like Lil' Abner, too, for the same reason. There might be 2 others I like at all.

Chicago...it was just so sexy...plus every guy that plays Billy Flynn is hot Richard Gere was the best...I love that play

i saw whistle down the wind in london and that was good..
proberly mainly because my cousin was in it and we got a private box with are own bar..
