Try disabling DT1's firewall temporarily to see if that works. If so then you might have to mess with the settings of the firewall on DT1 to get it to work. Also there can be MULTIPLE firewalls on the computer (Router, Anti Virus/spyware, plus Windows firewall).

Hope this helps.

What sort of cable are you using, wired to each other or are you connecting wirelessl, or are you connecting via a router?

It is difficult to answer without knowing how your network is configured. However, if you are using a direct wire to wire connection where one cable connects to both computers, is it the proper one? You need a crossover cable in this configuration.

Are you using Simple File Sharing or the full NTFS file system and security? These permissions can be sticky at best, even using Simple File Sharing.

Now, as you are able to access one computer is sounds like your Network name is the same in both computers. To make sure just open up System in Control Panel, click on the Computer Name tab and down towards the middle will be your Network name. It should be identical for both computers.

Sometimes if you copied or moved a file permissions won't be as you expected. For example: If you move from a protected folder into a sharing folder the files retain the same permissions as in the protected folder. So, if you moved from your protected My Documents folder into the any Shared folder, the files will still not be accessable to anyone else attempting access. In order to change this you would need to change the permissions, or just delete and then copy to the folder instead. If you wish to rid your system of the duplicated items in a folder after copying them somewhere else, after the copy just delete from the location you no longer wish to store the item(s).

It could be as simple as the cable you are using. If it isn't a cross over cable you can access one but that one can't access the other. Check and see what type of cable you are using.

They both need to be clients and servers to file share to and from eachother, make sure server and client are enabled on both and both are sharing something. Turn off your firewall until you get it working.

This is definitly not a cable problem, if it was file sharing wouldnt work at all and it does work one way.
