Dechlorinated tap water is perfect. Keep the water between 73-86 degrees. You might want to add one or two crystals of aquarium salt to the tank as well. This makes the water less suseptible to bacteria growing near the bottom, where betta fins often drag around.
Don't use distilled water.

The water should be free of chlorine, ammonia, do not contain cupper and the temperature should be at 26 C.
Please do not put the fish in a small container and do not put another beta male with him.

Tap water with a declorinator, bio supplement and bio supplement food. Keeps bio organisms to keep the water clean and the declorinator keeps chemicals out of it. I also like to age the water in a bucket for one day before if your tank is small this works best.

Just dechlorinated tap water is the best bet for bettas. It needs to be of the right temperature of course.

I use tap water, but I make sure its luke warm. You want the water to have a tropical temperature.

I use bottle water for my bettas. I will not drink my tap water I don't expect my fish to swim in it.

fresh water is the way to go i use water from water bottles or a water purifier. But you can add tap water as long as you have something to de-chloronize it.
