Hey, Ever since I've started college two weeks ago (I'm a freshmen) I've had irregular bowl movments and lots of bloating at the end of the day and constipation, but two weeks ago I was fine, why do you suppose this is? My thoughts that change in my diet and not used to the food, or maybe stress related? I dunno, what should I do?

A change in diet, stress of something new, feelings of pressure at school can all lead to this. Focus on your diet first. Make sure you get enough fiber and water. Think about what you ate at home and what you are eating now. This could give you a clue as to this problem. Then, stress can also make this worse. Pace yourself and keep up with the assignments. Procrastinating will add stress to what you are feeling. Talk with someone if these ideas don't help.

Keep your diet free of junk...sometimes dairy will cause this....stress definately does! Exercise daily and have "quiet time" daily as well. I would look at ways to decrease stress and eat well. Carbs, like whole grains, if your not used to them will cause this or white flour if your not used to that will also cause constipation or bloating.

Try...eating prunes (great antioxidant) daily BEFORE a meal. Flax seed ground up in your blender (inexpensive in whole seed form not already pre-ground) taking 1-2 tablespoons daily, easing your way into it will relieve constipation. Eat lots of veggies and drink lots of water...you should feel a BIG difference within a week if you do these things. Good Luck!

It's Irritable Bowel Syndrom, IBS. Look it up. Have you been drinking a lot of alcohol? Perhaps it irritated your system.
