Any aquatic plant could be used in a tank with bettas. If you're thinking about the betta vases, these are peace plants, which aren't totally aquatic, don't give the betta much space (or the proper water temperature). Some also use the "lucky bamboo" which isn't aquatic either. Both can take their roots being somewhat wet, but the leaves need to be out of the water.
If you have a small tank (2.5 gallons or larger), the type of plant will depend largely on your tank lighting. If your using a light that can with the tank, Java moss, Java fern, or Anubias are your best choices. I've also used banana plants and Aponogeton with them, but these like a little higher of a light level.

You can use Java Ferns and Java Moss. That's what I've always used, and they keep the tank free from nitrites! Good luck!

Bettas are carnivores. Dont feed them live plants. They do love to have plants in their tank tho to swim around:)
