really, JohnDoe, you think the workers there got everything done in 29 hours? Well I guess that explains why you support Guiliani, no reasoning ability.

I think he back-stepped pretty quickly after being quoted on this -- an ego is a terrible thing to lose control of! I don't mean to defend him on this because I have mixed feelings about him on a lot of levels, however; we do need to stop paying undo attention and giving too much weight to these mostly anticlimactic, and stupid missteps by candidates and start to get them to actually talk about the things that matter. 9-11 already happened, we will never forget it and we will always grieve the unbelievable loss suffered -- but it is over nevertheless. We need to move forward and get some control over what happens in our future in this country. We need to try to find a leader with strength of character, who is stable, fastidious, honest, and who truly loves this country and its' citizens. Someone who can put the needs of the country at large before his or her own ego and need for power -- someone who doesn't care who gets the credit, but will recognize that it will not be a one-man show. Someone who will insist upon drawing in the best talent we have in the country to work with him/her to solve problems -- not keep looking back to point a finger at which politician in the past 'caused' the problem. Someone who will focus only on solutions, not partisan politics. Someone who won't get caught up in the good old boy system that ignores the very citizens they are supposed to be working for. Let's not let the press coverage of this minutia distract us from what's really important -- focus on the BIG picture. Our future depends on it...

Crushinator,
he certainly spent more time there than any other current Presidential Candidate on either side of the aisle.
Must be easy to hate Giuliani up there in the Big Apple. For a lot of us from a far he was quite soothing as the Mayor in charge.
Go easy on this aspect of him, there are many other skeletons that may come out of the closet on him, the criticism on 9/11 is best left alone.
Best to you!

He spent more time at Yankees games than he did at Ground Zero. The answer is that his candidacy is entirely because of his mayor status during 9/11. If not for that he wouldnt even be a candidate so he has to keep his 9/11 involvement in the media. Unfortunately for him, hes a liar and is easily caught. This man is not trustworthy!
For those of you denying he ever said it, take a look at the link. Its amazing what you can find with a little research!

Maybe he did? Were you there?
For your info I do not support Gulliani over the other Republicans. I could care less whether he was at ground zero more than someone else that was not what he was getting PAID to do. You have the audacity to compare working on the site after the fact to the office worker who was not getting paid extra for a hazardous occupation either getting kiled or injured.

The New York Times - that's a good fair and balanced paper. Where's the quote from Guialini that he said that?
Guiliani was defending himself from liberals who keep attacking him because they fear he will crush Hillary at the polls (and he will.)

I have heard him talk about being there on several occasions but NEVER heard him say he spent more time there than the workers.
Nor can I find ANY evidence he EVER said that.
He DID say he spent more time there than any of the other Candidates, INCLUDING Senator Hillary Clinton, New York's Senator.
GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.

no longer as lots time as he'd such as you to have faith. As Mayor, he ought to have been there lots that adjust into his job, yet maximum of his time substitute into being a excursion instruction manual for numerous officers. he's taking pot photos at Hillary approximately her time spent there, yet her job covers all of massive apple, his substitute into merely the city of massive apple. it quite is a drained previous ploy of his and he should feel embarrassment approximately equating his time there with the responders in any way!

He was supposed to be in his secure bunker in WTC building #7...that's standard protocol for the mayor of NYC if there is an attack so he can coordinate rescue efforts from a secure position...Instead, he chose to walk the streets...Surprisingly, WTC building #7 mysteriously "fell" that day, sound curiously coincidental????????????????????
