welllllllllll i'm an eighth grader, and i'd have to say the biggest challenges for me are most definitely keeping my grades up, plus i'm in gate so it's like ten times harder, fitting in at school with all the cool kids, for sure self confidence is a problem, and just trying to live up to the standards. i hate that adults expect SO much of teens and they're like "blah blah kids these days are SO uneducated blahblahhh how is their generation going to keep up with ours when they have so many issues?" and really, i believe that the generation before us set us up with these problems. and i think a LOT of the pressure that teens have is from school. it's really immature, but a lot of kids at my school cut, which i think is kinda pointless, even though i tried it once. i only tried to see if it actually helped. and it didn't. but all the pressure seriously just sucks. MAJORLY. sorry this was kinda long hahaha. i like to vent(: edit: AND BOYS! everyone's pressured to have a boyfriend and kiss and make out and stuff, which i totally think 13 year olds and 14 year olds are too young for. i think i only know like three people, including myself, that haven't had a boyfriend yet. definitely pressure.

A biased media. Teens generally just accept what they see on TV or read in magazines as gospel truth. In this day and age, though, you really have to research things you find in the media, and then make your own judgment call.

The same challenge that has always faced young adults - finding their path and gaining some kind of foothold upon yonder path.

For me, I'd have to say getting into a good college. The studying, applying, collecting funds.

I'm lucky in that I went through this with ease, but many of my peers were overstressed for months.

Public schools and government propaganda. I hope most of them learn to think for themselves.
