alot of people as well as the media are questioning their actions and their behaviour. it was just a matter of time before the sympathy wore off with the media.....people eyes are finally opening.....so much for 'kate's small minority'.

I'm even turning against them. Which amazes me. I always felt, yes, they were totally wrong to leave three children under the age of 4 years alone, but that they made a mistake - albeit one that resulted in their daughters disappearance. And I felt terrible pity for them for that reason.
However, after more than sixteen weeks without a clue, I must wonder. The first thing that bothered me was when Kate discovered Madeleine missing and came running back to the group shouting "They've taken her. They've taken her." Even at the time that sounded soo far from what one would expect to hear from a mum who'd just found her daughter missing.
The second thing that bothers me is the fact that Gerry now wants the media attention dropped and for them to return to the U.K. - minus Madeleine - despite having said they'd stay till she was found. They have the fund so it can't really be the lack on money driving them home.
I've come to wonder if they indeed do know Madeleine is dead, have (they think) convinced the police of their innocence, want the media attention to die down so that perhaps the hunt for Madeleine will also die down, and bring less attention to what connection they may possibly have to her disappearance. Now its time to 'get on with life' and gradually let Maddie fade into the 'unsolved abductions' catagory.
I hate to point fingers without any knowledge of wrongdoing, but what happened to the reports that bugged phones and computer e-mails had been found with the parents acknowledging there that Madeleine was indeed dead?
I just wish truth would finally come out and we could all have closure. Poor Madeleine. I'd love to believe she is still alive but finding it more and more difficult each day. :-(

Some people are still are still of the mindset that to criticise the parents before Madeleine is found undermines the search, and maybe at first they had a point. But its now been nearly 4 months since it happened and certain events since have plagued on peoples sympathy.
1) The McCanns and their friends were only to happy to point the finger at others, in fact anyone but themselves.
2) Neither Kate, Gerry or their friends have made any statement to say that leaving young children alone while you go out eating and drinking is wrong. In fact they have gone out of their way to justify it.
3) Many people dont like the way the McCanns seem to have spent more time 'raising awareness' and meeting high profile people than actually looking for their daughter
4) People dont like being duped. The orginal line that Madeleine must have been abducted seems to have come from the McCanns themselves without any evidence in the public domain to show that is the case.
What is extroadinary on this forum is the number of people who still seem to try to excuse the McCanns child neglect by either shouting the emotional 'paedo' ,or that the parents have had the tragedy of losing a child and are therefore in some way beyond criticism.

At last the barrage of questions, not a whispering campaign but a shouting campaign has finally come to the attention of the media which the McCanns have finally lost control of. Child neglect is a serious matter and has, as can be seen, serious consequences. The cold calculating way money has been scammed and yes it was and is a blatant scam, from caring, kind hearted people has finally hit home. Whatever happened that night, the truth must be told, pacts of silence must be broken, the media have finally had the guts to print some of the more unpalatable facts, about time. Unfortunately it is again money that seems to have turned the tide. People just do not like being conned!

Of course they are losing support. Which is why they want the media attention stopped. They now don't like all this attention they have attracted. It appears that the McCanns themselves have been contacting papers for interviews. Until the paper prints something they don't like then he wants the media frenzy to stop. Well Gerry not everyone gets what they want in this life. Ask your kids.

What has changed? The passage of time - it means a happy ending is increasingly less likely. If news were to come in the morning that she was found alive and well, we would all be delighted, regardless of any parenting flaws. No parent is perfect 24/7, but we all do our best. Most of us are lucky enough never to have had anything like this to face.

Initially I was a supporter, who wouldn't be for a couple that had supposedly had their child taken. But as the events came out I got more and more irrate and then when they went to visit the Pope.....that did it for me!
This has been a strange and difficult case that's for sure. Let's all hope that the REAL truth will out in the end. I know we all moan about them here, but little Maddie WAS left with her 2 siblings ALONE and that for me is UNFORGIVABLE FOREVER. They have to live with that, they have to face the people day in day out when they return to the UK and reality. They have to look into the eyes of Maddies grand parents and tell them WE ARE SORRY WE LET YOU ALL DOWN. If they can live with that then bully for them. But I for one wouldn't be able to, would you?

what's changed?
much has been said in the past couple of weeks, they turned on the media as the media has turned on them.
what's this about drugging the children?
what's this about a holiday in greece where they did much the same thing, leaving the children to sleep while they dined, drank & took part in quiz night?
what's this about no strangers looking after the children when they were all regularly booked into play-clubs & crèches, run by strangers?
their lame excuses are wearing thin & without so much as an apology from camp mccann in the last 4 months, what is there left to support?

The McCanns think they have done nothing wrong. They went on holiday as a family and the kids spent most of their time throughout the week's holiday time in the kids club! What quality time was this? The result they have Madeleine their daughter missing in appalling circumstances.
Kate McCann said that they have had enormous support from parents who have been quite open to say that they have left their children a hundred times over! What world are we living in these days?

They should never have left their children unattended !!!! It is only the fact they both are doctors, social services have not been involved!! If Madeleines mam was a single mother it would have been a different story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! N o mother would ever leave their children on their own!! I certainly would not and I have 5 children, all of which I have taken abroad but my husband and I would put them to bed and then sit on the balcony after we had a family meal out!!!
