The lesser of two evils is a silly slogan that keeps the evil ones in power.
If you trace the campaign donations far enough, its really the same party. If anything, its cliques of families and connected friends that are fighting over who gets the biggest cut of the tax dollar funneled into their own friendly investments.

They are ALL OWNED by the same people! Politics and Politicians of BOTH parties (and even of different countries...like say Iran) are PUPPETS in great big puppet show to keep people fighting each other while the OWNERS enslave them.
Hillary thinks a nuclear terrorist attack would be "good"...for the Republicans. Obama thinks we ought to nuke Pakistan and talk to Iran BEFORE we nuke them. Crap John McCain sounds like the sane one. NONE of these puppets is talking about total withdrawal from the middle east. ALL of them are in favor of the massive arms buildup WE are supplying to Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, Turkey and Azerbaijan.
WAKE UP...all these people are merchants of DEATH just like W.

The Democratic Party is the home of politicos who talk and talk and talk some more.....that's all......and have not a clue in the mechanics of governing. I think the leadership was shocked last election cycle that the poll numbers held and they made such great gains in both houses. Deep down, they know they weren't prepared to challenge the administration...and it shows.

They are hardly his "handmaiden"... they obstruct everything that he is trying to do and, in fact, give aid, comfort and encouragement to a serious enemy... on social issues they are never satisfied.. we've passed the largest increases in entitlements (drugs for elderly) and education (no child left behind) in the history of this nation... and still it isn't enough.... That doesn't qualify them as "handmaidens" at all...

The Democrats are anythig but "Bush's handmaiden." I understand the frustration, though.
What the Democrats are dealing with is bush's efforts to "govern by veto." Look at the Iraq funding, for example--the Democrats did exactly what they promised--support the troops, but mandate a withdrawal. bush vetoed it.
And--here's the real problem--the Republicans are still Bush's lapdogs--even the ones who want us out of Iraq haven't the balls to stand up to Bush and the right-wing extremists. Without at least a few of them, the Democrats can't override a veto.
What are they supposed to do--cut funding and let our troops suffer and maybe get killed for lack of supplies? Of course not--and everyone knows that's exactly what Bush would do if they simply refused funding.
Watch the "between the lines" stuff. The Democrats are wearing down that "Repubican coalition" slowly but surely. And they only go so far--tey refused flatly to give Bush the authority to do surveillance without court oversight, for example.

Unfortunately both are more interested in getting elected and staying in office than doing the job they were elected to do.
The Dems told the American people what they wanted to hear to get in office and now there kissing up to big money to stay in office.

Why did that surprise you? They controlled the Senate in 2002 and did whatever Bush wanted on Iraq then too.
