kind of sounds like fantail goldfish. especially if they are from wal-mart. fish from there pretty basic types. they don't need anything special. treat your tap water with conditioner and feed them goldfish/tropical fish flakes. i think they will be ok. Good Luck!!! :)

I'll guess that your orange one may be a swordtail, the other could be a number of things (guppy, molly, platy, etc.). It may also be a calico goldfish, in which case it would need to have a different temperature than the the swordtail. You might try seeing if you can identify it from this website: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/categ.cfm?pcatid=830
You may want to check on the adult sizes of the fish so they aren't overcrowded in the tank if they other fish has a lot of growing to do.
Here's a website that will help you with your new tank: http://www.firsttankguide.net/ I would suggest you look at the section about cycling your tank. Yours isn't very large, and with two fish, you may have problems with ammonia and nitrite building up for a few weeks. There's also some good info for you here: http://www.fishlore.com/Beginners.htm

Odds are very good you have small goldfish. Other than the colors, does your fish look like this one?

The orange would could be a fantail goldfish. Something like this one:

If that is what you have, I'm sorry to say they won't be happy in you tank for very long. They get well over a foot long and will be bigger than your whole tank! They will be ok for a while though.
I'm not sure what else you might need to know or what other questions you have, but feel free to email me if I can help more.

Well one might have been a yellowtail I'm not actully sure how big they are but it has the name tail in it ;-)
I would try going to a pet store (an actual one not walmart) and asking about that. I would also suggest not to buy any animals from walmart because the workers are not treated well so i doubt the animals are.

Swordtails?
picture would help..
try a site with pictures like about.com's freshwater pages they have pictures and you may determine from there what you have.
You really should have done more research on your fish BEFORE buying them. Also your tank hasn't cycled so you might have dead fish in a few days.
Go to the About site and read up on fish and fish care before you replace them....

Just look up species of freshwater fish online to figure out what they are. That's a great deal on the tank even if it is really small (assuming there are no leaks).

Oh no -- GOLDFISH! Geez, why in the world do you people get one of the BIGGEST breeds of fish for these TINY TANKS!! You bought a baby, it can't survive in there, it is GOING TO BE BIGGER THAN THE ENTIRE TANK! These are living creatures, you can't torture them to death in tiny tanks just for your own pleasure. Take it back and get a betta that can survive in there. Goldfish get BIG and need a 20 gallon for the two of them. Please don't be so mean, unless you plan on upgrading in a month or two.
