Hi, Auto Glym Resin Polish ( Halfords sell it) is great on older cars but don't use it on modern water based paints ie. under 10 years old and especially Metallic. Use a good quality Cloth and make sure that the cloth is soft (wash it before using)

There is no best polish, its all down to the car owners stamina and pride. Young or old cars paintwork will definitely benefit from a good polish now and again, the age of the car is immaterial. I myself being lazier but wiser use Pledge furniture polish, but never in the direct sunlight, its easy and produces great results.
