I have a 00 Montana with a blown head gasket. The mechanic said it would be a 700 dollar repair. This seems like too much money. Does this seem right? Has anyone had this done or know what the labor rate is on a repair to these types of vans?

The labor manual calls for 11 hours for the left side and 14 hrs for the right. So, it looks like you're getting a pretty good deal.

sounds like head gasket going / gone , if it hasnt atauly gone it would be a nice cheaper repair 200- 250 but when it blown u looking at about £450 £500 to even £650 dont drive it no more untill its fixed creamy look / milkshake look on oil cap = water mixing with the oil sign of bad gasket also check ur water it prob look oily there is a special stuff u can pour in to fix head gaskets now ive only read about it so not sure when or what stage u can use it but check it out

$700 seems cheap, considering there are 2 heads and they are buried so you can't reach them without removing the engine. Go for it.

labor costs vary

ask the mechanic what kind of yacht he has

if its big, he probably has repeat business, and is probly a good mechanic and is probly honest

That's a fair price if it's done right with a warranty.

sounds resonable.. you may incur much more to solve the underlying cause of the gasket failure....
