Jack McClellan, a self-described pedophile, is leaving California after a judge ordered him to stay away permanently from places where children gather. This is the guy who posted photos of children in public places and discussed how he liked to stake out parks, public libraries, fast-food restaurants and other areas where little girls congregated...but states he never touched them. California parents and a sympathetic judge have run him out of the state, so now he is going somewhere else. What would you do if he was coming to your neighborhood?

Good discussion so far. See the guy is NOT a registered sex offender...yet. He just TALKS about it AND tells other pedophiles how to find the kids. So, since being a creep is not illegal, what do you do with him?

There can be no doubt the guy is creepy. But his case is a little troubling. The fact that he likes to snap photos and post them on the web is disturbing. But as far as I know there is no evidence of him actually harming someone. While I'm sure most would agree they don't want him anywhere near kids, it does beg the question of whether the government/police have the authority to act against someone who is just creepy. And if so, how far does it go?

I don't have an issue with how this individual is being handled, but I do think there could be larger implications. And that makes me a bit nervous.

I would have to say keep my eyes and ears open. People who are deviant and like to talk about it are looking for attention and best handled by not making a big deal of them. Now ask me what I would do if he touched a child I care about:

9......1........nevermind!

I am never the first to know anything unless I did it. I doubt I would have time to get the second 1 out while dialing 911 before someone else handled it.

Someone raised a very valid point and I thought about it for a minute.... what if he isn't a pedophile at all and this is all smoke and mirrors? He's only got to be attacked, mishandled or find himself with the wrong security guard and he's a very rich man.

Time for a neighbourhood meeting folks. Lets be ever vigilant when it comes to our children. Post pictures of this guy all over the place stating what hes done. Maybe that would make him feel unwelcome enough to leave.

I would organize a neighborhood watch association to keep eyes on him 24/7. Follow him wherever he travels, within reason, and communicate by cell phone with others in your group as to his whereabouts. Perhaps, if the pervert knows he is being watched constantly, he will not feel welcome in your area, and hopefully choose to move on to other territories. If he chooses to stay in your area, let the local authorities know if he takes one step out of line and report it promptly. If he still continues with his presence, pressure your local authorities with protesters until they rectify the problem. If they fail to respond, use the power of your votes to elect people who WILL rectify your situation. Good Luck.

I hate pedophiles as much as anyone, but honestly, the ones that AREN'T as open are the ones people should be afraid of.

While you're planning on getting this guy out of your neighborhood, there's another one out there preying on your child that you had NO IDEA about.

I don't suspect he actually is a pedophile. I think he's just another (no offense to normal Californians) retardofck looking to garner attention since THAT'S what he gets off with; not kids.

Dig my old baseball bat out of the closet, oil it so the blood does not stain the wood, and then get my hunting knife out and sharpen it until it was razor sharp. Sounds like I might be doing some late-night skinning to me. Anyone care to give me a hand?

And we call this justice? Are you kidding me? Get them out of my state and all is good? Ridiculous. Thanks for the info, though. I'll be watching the watchdog.com website for him - IF he registers. This is a sick injustice to our nation as a whole. Shame on them.

If you don't understand a question, DON'T ANSWER IT! How hard is that to do?
