I'm thinking about going into the CEO or CPA type industry after college and i want an opinion on what i should major in. I could major in Business Administration and minor in Economics or i can major in Economics and minor in Business Administration. What would be a good major a minor? or is it better to choose econ or bus. to major in and minor in something more specific like accounting or finance?

To me, the bigger question is do you think you will go on to grad school or do you plan to stop with your bachelor's degree. If you are thinking of getting an MBA, Economics might serve you better as a major, and you could minor in business if you chose to. If not, Business or Administration might be a more career-focused major.

Your question about general business or something more specific depends on the school you are going to. Some offer separate majors and minors in different areas of business, while others do not - you major in business, with an emphasis in finance or whatever.

For accounting, you'd probably be better off doing an business ad. degree, but I am sure you could pull accounting off with an economics degree. You might go to undergrad school for 4 years and then finish up in an MBA program or in a Masters of Accountancy program (because you have to have 150 credit hours to become a CPA or a CMA or a CIA). Some colleges might even have a major in accounting--if that's the case, you'll want to get the major in accounting.

I think business ad is better for becoming a CEO.

If you like both fields, why don't you just double major?

personally, i would choose the economics major with the business minor. if you go to the princetonreview.com and look up the economics major, it will say that there are TONS of opportunities with this degree

Both are great choices & you can get a double major if you are good in math. The engineering degree is harder than the Finance/Economics Degree. So, see how strong you are academically first. If you feel very strong & you earn easily As in math & physics, get your engineering degree as a priority. If you struggle to get As go for Finance. Either way, they are both great majors.
