Every time I try to watch something on my computer it takes ages to buffer and then the pic freezes and I can only hear it. How can I fix this?

The reason it's taking so long to buffer is because either you don't have enough RAM (Random Access Memory), free hard drive space (if you're actually downloading the movie) or your internet connection is not fast enough to cope.

The reason you're not able to view the movie is because you don't have the correct codecs installed. You can download many different types of codec pack from the link below. (I've got K-Lite codec pack installed on my computer and have yet to find a movie that won't play.) These codec packs are free. (Scroll down the page, and on the left hand side you'll see various packs available.) Alternatively, you can download VideoLan VLC Media Player, a free Media Player that installs it's own codecs. It's a very good player that plays just about anything you can throw at it.
