The pre-season has given me the football fix that I've been missing of the past few months, but overall I would say it has been irrelevant for most teams. After all, many of the players that have participated in the pre-season so far will likely not even see any playing time during the regular season, and will have little affect on the outcome of the team they are on.
However, the pre-season is clearly important to certain teams such as Denver, who have lost several key players due to injury in pre-season games. Clearly the pre-season is nothing to laugh at if something like that happens to a team.

I bet most of the people who keep repeating how irrelevant the preseason is saw their teams get smacked, lol. You can still take a lot from how the first teamers performed in preseason games.
I was impressed with the Browns. The FIRST team o-line held up well (which was a major problem last year), and the FIRST team defense only allowed 1 TD that was not the result of a turnover. Jamal Lewis ran very well, and should do well this season. Brady Quinn looked great, especially against Denver's FIRST team defense. The other 2 QBs played mediocre (decent stats, but with really stupid, game losing mistakes), but hopefully that won't be an issue for too long. Overall, they should have a pretty good season.

I think it's irrelevant, other than to help coaches choose new starters and in regards to injuries.
My 49ers haven't looked so good. The 3-4 defense looks weak at best, and though in Chicago they finally managed to stop the run, the now the secondary might as well have been playing on the wrong side of the field. And they could hardly move the ball against teh starting Chicago defense.
BUT, like I said, irrelevant. We'll wait for the regular season to see how we're going to do.

It is all IRRELEVANT !! You really cannot judge how a team is going to play until the starters play all four quarters and we won't see that till week 1 of the NFL season , Are You Ready For Some Football !!!!!!!!
Oh and Vegas I am a Browns fan Jack-*** and yes I repeat the preseason is IRRELEVANT , as a fellow Browns fan you should know this more than others C'mon !!!!!!

It is totally irrelevant except for the coaches to see players and the players trying to make the team. Best example - the Colts were 1-12 the last 3 years in preseason.

I'm in Houston. I've kept my eyes on the Texans this pre-season..I'm impressed with Matt Schaub. He's been pretty good. I think the team as a whole really needs to get it straight. Our Defense AND offense is struggling, especially on the line, where it really matters. The new QB should do pretty well here though...We'll see...

I gotta go with matt s. The lions were looking improved. However, preseason is no indication of what a team can or will do. The power house teams will hold back and the others will try every combination they can on the field to find the "key". Fun to watch....means nothing.

It's not irrevelant and it is irrevelant. teams don't play the regulars for a full game to help prevent injuries usually until the last preseason game. Even then some teams only play the starters for only a series or 2 then they are done til the regular season.

As far as wins and losses, it's completely irrelevant. Except that you do get to see how players are doing individually (Matt Leinart seemed great!) and sometimes it determines who the starters will be. So that's interesting.
But my favorite part about it is that I get to see everyone play, even those players who are going to ride the pine during the season. I loved watching Vinnie Testaverde, and my favorite linebacker from USC, Dallas Sartz, even scored a touchdown for the Redskins!

irrelevant...im a pats fan and they showed the preseason records for the past couple of years and when they had a 4-0 record they won the superbowl then they had like a 1-3 record the next year and won the superbowl...so it doesnt really matter i guess.
