In the NHL, coaches are sometimes wrongly fired, either for leading a snakebitten team, a personality conflict with a primadonna superstar, or the ownership simply does not like him. My question is simply this: as far as former NHL coaches go, which one do you feel was wrongly fired and deserves another chance?

Steve Kasper...just kidding. Remember when he benched Neely and Stevens? Seriously though, I'd say Pat Quinn...kidding again. Sorry, I can't help myself. For real this time, I'd say Jim Schoenfeld. .509 career winning percentage, and he didn't take any crap.

Well, since Ted Nolan already got his, I can't really think of any that didn't leave on their own terms (Robinson and Burns I believe resigned?) or catch on elsewhere. I guess some might say Pat Quinn. IMO Dave Lewis isn't a good coach. I don't know, Bill Barber but I don't think he was a great coach either. Terry Murray was a good coach but retired. I could be a homer and say Rick Bowness. Kevin Costintine, another Sutter must be lurking?? I always like Jaques Demers.

Looking at the list, NONE come to mind as deserving.

I think that Pat Quinn deserves another chance in the NHL as a coach because he had led the Leafs to the Playoffs every year except for 2005-06, and they were only two points out. He will get another chance, and it will be next year.

Well a couple of months ago I would've said Claude Julien after what happened to him in New Jersey. Getting fired a couple weeks before playoffs even though they were one of the top teams in the east. But now he has gotten a job with Boston so that is good to see

I know that he's not a former head coach, but Wayne Gretzky really deserves to coach a better team than the Coyotes.

hmm, the first that name comes to mind is Claude Julien, but he has a job now, but the timing of him losing his job was really unfair and wrong, cause if it wasn't for his coaching the devils would've never been where they were...but also i think Pat Quinn, i've always liked him, and i think he deserves another shot as a NHL head coach.

Rather than regurgitate the old ones how about some new talent. I heard about this Pat Quinn guy, anybody else heard of him.

Just kidding, but Quinn sounds about the best of the unemployed.
