The only thing I can tell you without being able to see it is, there are a couple of fuses in the fuse block under the hood just for your trailer lights. If they check good, it would have to be in the wiring harness that the trailer wiring plugs into.

I am not much help, sorry, but just wanted to say that trailer lights suck. There is always a mysterious problem. Do check your grounds and connections, however. If the lights work OK on one truck and not on another, which is a late model, my guess would be a faulty-and-or-improper connector.

A tip: Go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto or O'Reilley's before you spend big bucks and see if there is someone there who will examine your harness. That's what I did and all I needed was a cheap connection replacement.

Wire or connector must be bad for the driving lights on the truck side of the wiring harness---check with a test light that has a pointed tip so you can probe the wiring for power at the connector terminal or in the wiring. Depending on whether you have a 4 wire or 7 wire connector, it could be one harness is wired different from one truck to another. Some sites with general wiring diagrams---

Check to make sure power is coming from the pwr wire from the truck. Best way for that is a meter, stick one lead in recepticle and other on frame of truck. You can also test your ground by this method. Sry i dont do this on trucks much, but i work on heli's so hope was helpful.
