Which one and why?

Both are good, but I lean a little toward Denzel.
He has shown a lot of acting flexibility and has been good in both "good guy" and "bad ***" roles. Samuel L. Jackson is also pretty flexible, but seems to lean more toward the "bad ***" roles.
Denzel Washington is also a very good looking man, with a lot of appeal for white audiences. The best actors attract fans from all racial groups, from both men and women, and I think Denzel is better at this than Samuel.
But both are exceptionally fine actors with a lot of talent and will do well in any reasonable role.

Samuel L. Jackson, I have never been into Denzel. I just enjoy Samuel much moore.

Samuel L. because he is older and Denzel has time to become the top dog after Sam is gone..plus he takes really off the chart roles

Denzel seems more easy going
I'm a little scared of Samuel he plays very
good bad guys.....smile!

Samuel L jackson, "Jules" in "Pulp Fiction" was one of the greatest characters ever, Denzel is just a whiner.
