They can complain but that is all. If she has to get a job...boo hoo! As far as you being "late"...my exhusband paid by the end of the month and so he was considered on time...his was also due at the first of the month.

What's wrong with you saving your money during the month and paying your child support payments on time? Payment is due on the first, that is when they should get it. Just like your phone bill, the heating bill your rent, etc. Just because it is "only" child support doesn't mean you can shrug it off. These are your children, don't they deserve to have a roof over their head, food in their stomachs, heat, water, etc? The child support payments go to pay a percentage of those bills. The fact that their step mother has to get a job is a moot point. The point is you need to budget better and make your payments on time.

The payments should be made on time because the rent is due on time and the phone bill is due on time, etc. If the payments are late, you are marked in the court books as "in arrears" until the payment comes. Don't be a late pay. The easiest way to fix this, PAY AHEAD. If you made TWO payments the next time, then you will always be paying ahead one month and never be late again. You child will certainly benefit.

Well in some states if your on welfare (food stamps,Medical, GPA) you are not required to pay child support. THAT FUNNY
My son mother tried to pull crap on me. I had my son for 12 years because she was unfit. I married and was with my wife for 8 years she got a drug problem and i got her out of the house. My son mother lied and said i abused him (not true) DCF cleared my and she still went for full custody.
I got really sick (lime disease)and ended up not being able to work for months. She got pissed she cant get any money from me because im on public assanstance and i will not make over 1100 dollars a month so i can keep getting food stamps.
That may not seem right but i have not seen my son in 5 months and she in violation of court order to let me see my son.

If you are ordered to pay child support and your a few days late and you still pay...you should be fine. So long as you are not in the negative in owning. She shouldn't be calling you at all. I would go back to court and get a restraining order on her not being able to call you.

the first thing you can do is to tell your ex's wife that the child support is not for HER but your children's benefit.
secondly, let her know you expect her to stop calling you.
third, ignore her, she's a sponge!!!
she can get a job... what is she doing? living off your child support payments?
what a loser she is!!!

as long as you dont get a certain amount behind they can't do anything. tell the ex wife it's none of her business and hang up on her and call your case worker and turn her in for harassing you. my ex is 3,000 dollars behind and he's still not getting into trouble or anything.

Not your fault or place to answer her. As l ong as your husband pays, its not your fault its late to her and besides she probably needs to get a job anyway. Tell her to callthe collection agency if she doesnt like it
