This is a new one on me. I have recently decided to replace the split bench seat in my '03 Ram 1500 with an older style Ford bench seat. I haven't even taken the measurements yet, because I would like to know what the best option would be. Are there any older seats that might match the bolt patterns, or is the only option to drill new mounting holes? I know its really one of those "Had to have done it before" questions, so I'm hoping someone out there has done this!

Staying with same make seating is one thing and usually not a problem with lining up bolt holes but when you go to a different manufacturer seat, you'll have to measure everything and probably drill new mounting holes unless you can take the measurements to a salvage yard and see if anything they have lines up or is close. Make sure the new seat adjusters are level and bolted in/reinforced well -- you may need to install spacers or washers between the adjusters and the floorpan to get the right height. Seal up the old holes and save the seat for when you want to sell it.
