My Skimmia japponica is looking really sad?

Question

It gets decent water and inderect sun. This is it's second year and did really well for the first season and wintered well. The soil is fairly acidic. I just don't know what she wants. Thanks! :)

Try some hollytone, not miracle grow.

It could also be an insect problem. Look on the underside of the leaves, and see if you see anything.

Or, you could take a pic and send it to me. How is she looking sad? Droopy? Browning leaves?

I found this blurb, but I don't know if she has this problem or not:

"Skimmia is also susceptible to spider mite damage. This is most often noticed by a white or yellow discoloration of the leaves. If this occurs I suggest you take a magnifying glass and look for the miniature spider-mites on the under-sides of the leaves. This pest can usually be controlled by an environmentally friendly, refined oil spray"

"I just don't know what she wants." Ok so you have as much luck with plants as you do women eh? *ducks before he hits her*

Have you tried talking to her? All females, plants or otherwise, like to be talked to. You might also try changing the environment....... or that could be the problem. Sometimes moving a plant too much causes it to go into a bit of "shock." Add some miracle gro or some other kind of fertilizer into the soil. And you might rethink peeing off the porch next time. *wink*

Not quite sure but I have my japonica in full sun so it may not be getting enough sun. have you fertilized this year?

fertilize and a little more sun---- preferably before 11am morning light
