No. The judge's sentence isn't exactly up for negotiations. If you have due cause why you cannot perform the community service, then your lawyer can pettition the court. It would have to be dang good, documented reason, or it will get denied.

Wow, you people, who answered this persons question with ridicule and distain are seriously lacking in couth, empathy and IQ. Don't do the crime, one person said....... Seriously, do you even know what crime he was convicted of? If its a paper crime, a petty offense or a crime of negligence or poverty, like driving without insurance or smoking marijuana? What if he couldn't afford a lawyer or took a plea, even though he was innocent (not that I'm saying he is but this happens all the time), is he still a scumbag? is your distain warranted still?
If the goal of community service is restitution to the community as it is prescribed by the law, well than money for time is a legal remedy.
For instance, a fine may be reduced in exchange for a prescribed number of hours of community service.
In this description, it is the law who is putting a dollar value on hours worked, so why can it not be reversed?
Be nice people and stop hating, its contagious not constructive.

Theres a charity that will allow you to pay off your community service hours my brother and a friend used them how it works is if you have 2 hours it equals $22.00 you can make a donation threw there website and they send you out your paperwork, we looked into this charity first before making a donation to make sure they were legal and yes indeed they are a 501c3 nonprofit charity they are called Uplifting Kids Charity my brother was soooo happy because it kept him from going to jail, the courts was not trying to offer him an extention so he paid them off he emailed and called them and someone got back to him right away he needed this paper from the charity like asap and they charged him for the overnight because we were not local to the charity which between $35.00 to $50.00 and an expedited charge of $50.00 , they did a professional letterhead and sent it out to him, he was toooo happy and he took the paper to the courts and everything was ok they are also court approved in 50 states. I couldn't be more pleased with this charity they saved my brother and his friends freedom from going to jail, they also have alot of other programs if you can't afford to pay the hours off you can do a fundraise you can reach them by via email at email@upliftingkids.org and also by phone at 1-855-581-9111 and there website is www.upliftingkids.org call them they can help you and if you need a professional letterhead urgent then let them know, I wouldn't try theses other places online community service or fast community service online they are not legit this is the only one i could find for my brother that is legit and not a scam and they followed threw with a tracking number and we signed for the document so check them out however you can't get no refunds if you decide not to go with them. They are doing great things for people all over the world and kids. Check them out they are even open late hours they help with court community service and also school community service as well, you can also do a fundraise for your hours they have alot of pretty cool programs they are great If you have court hours thats due now or within a couple of days call them they are even open on the weekends as well. I trust this charity by experience call them and get the help you need.

Depends on the Judge. Some feel that Community service is more punishment than a fine. Most CS I have seen in Florida was 4 hours per day and it was possible to work weekends.

There is a legal Charity Called Uplifting Kids they help people all over the world they are a 501c3 Noprofit that help people that have last minute or current hours to complete either before going to jail or the due date or after there due date, this organization was soooo great they helped my brother and my cousin out all they had to do is make donation to the charity for the hours they were do so my cousin had 8 hours to do so he paid them $80.00 so its ten dollars for every hour, also they did an overnight because he was about to go to jail it was pretty costly but it was well worth it same thing for my cousin that lived in another state they helped her out to and kept her from going to jail they mailed a letterhead out to her address for her to bring to court or rather give to her attorney and she never had any issues anymore she and my brother was soo happy they are the only charity i know thats out there they can help you , you cant complete hours online its not legal to that and this charity verified my family hours , its not worth getting locked up call this charity they are even open on the weekends as well, they are legal i verified them with the irs for charities and i verified there ein number before my brother made a donation, this charity is very nice and they do alot of great things for kids and the community so why not pay off your hours instead of going to jail , and they help out with school hours I'm in college and i had to get some hours done and they helped me with that of course all of this took place at different times but we remember this charity so everytime we was in a jam we used them and the outcome was great and legal , remember they do overnight for your court or school papers its an extra charge to expedite it to you and an extra charge for overnight they will call you with a tracking number this charity is great man they got all kinds of programs that can help you in your situation you can also fundraise off your hours and do a fundraise just give them a call i see alot of people on here that need help and rather then them call the charity to find out what they can do they end up going to jail hoping for an extenstion and that dont happen that often because my brother almost went to jail for not doing his community service hours the charity contact information is upliftingkids.org there phone number is 1-855-581-9111 ask to speak to the person that handles community service hours or school hours. They work with any kind of hours school hours, community service court hours it dont matter give them a call again there open on the weekends make sure you have your school infomation ready or your court information ready with a case or docket number because they can't do anything to help you unless you have that give them a call today Good Luck!!! I wouldn't trust no other charity but this one the other ones were flaky i didnt like them.

You serve your time and be done. Don't go and ask to pay it off because you might make the judge even more mad than you have already. If you were really that worried about it then you shouldn't have done what you did in the first place.
