On a recent question, I was told to tell my friend who was hosting this swimming party what was going on. I'm not sure how comfortable I'll be with that...any other suggestions? Please don't say tampons, because I'm not allowed to wear them (and I don't think we have a pack here, much less time to get one). I have to go swimming, and I recall doing it before on my period, but it was only on my first and last day...and it's pretty heavy now! I need help. Please, no stupid, silly, or offending answers. Thank you!

Honestly, there's nothing you can do but get a tampon. Why are you not allowed to wear them? You cannot go swimming with a pad because it will soak up water, and could possibly fall out of your swimsuit. Swimming without a tampon could also cause you to bleed through your swimsuit. Talk to your mom. Tell her what's going on and explain to her the issue. Maybe she'll finally agree.

If you 'have' to swim and there's no way around it, and you're heavy at the moment, you can only wear a tampon. Nothing else will work. Anything else will lead to a lot of embarrassment if they find out where the blood came from in the pool. It'd be easier to just tell them that you can come but can't swim, explain why and if they're female they should understand. If they're not, they should still understand.

Really theres nothing you can do. Your best bet is to use a tampon, but since you can't thats not an option. You can try hiding a pad under your bathing suit, but that could definitely lead to something emabarassing. And if you don't wear anything, that is highly unsanitary for the other people swimming. So I would suggest not swimming. Get a cute outfit on and just talk to people.

I wouldn't go swimming. Just say you dont feel good if anyone asks you why. If you swim without a tampon when you get out of the pool, you will bleed, and that will be embarrassing. You won't bleed while actually in the pool, but before and after you probably will. And don't use a pad swimming! it will just absorb pool water and become noticable.

I'm sorry about your problem. I hate to say it but tampons are really the only answer. Would you like someone elses blood floating around in the water your swimming in? You could run to the shop for a box of tampons ooorrr cancel! I'dgo for the tampons if i was you!
Good luck

If you are not going to wear a tampon, then you cannot go swimming while you are on your period. You can either make up an excuse, like you are not feeling well, or just skip out on going swimming.

There are no realistic options other than obtaining a tampon.

Pads will not do.

Going without is a health risk to others and potentially embarrassing to you.

Either get/use a tampon (get one from a friend or even buy one or two from a dispenser in a public bathroom at the mall/Target) or stay out of the pool.

well dear one, then swimming is out. it will only embarrass you when you start bleeding in the pool. wear your swim top and some shorts.. bed your mom to let you wear a tampon if it is that important.

Don't go swimming. Just go to the party, take your swimsuit if you want, but then say you have a stomachache, or a headache, or if you can fake some sniffles say you have a cold and don't want it to get worse, etc...

Tampons or NO SWIMMING.

Sorry. Your period does NOT stop or slow in the water, the water only disperses the blood so it looks like it does.
