Nothing represents freedom better than MTV. That's not to say I like MTV, but it does the job. Neither the dove or butterfly really represent freedom to me. Both of them are prey. They'd probably be better representatives of peace.

Butterfly as freedom is usually short lived..a dov is a bit longer in time. Money can buy freedom too. Though seeing dollar signs is not the correct way to think of being free of anything. Just being yourself is also a form of freedom - it is expensive at times though that's life is it not? The general consensus is represented by the dove though its a blast out of history books and they didn't know everything back then so how come we stick to such things in this day and age is a tad beyond me and my understanding of life itself. What does represent peace for who ever is not the symbol of an animal such as the dove who found land after Noahs journey..its an age old myth..some perceive as true..though it isn't its all but a mere story being told as stories were all them years ago. Don't forget they did not have radios, tv's pcs or any mobiles but relied on the wildlife to allow some vision of the earth. Again, its just a myth we are led to believe and that it is not exactly true. Symbols are thus a reaction to a mode or trand..in the olden days such a symbol was freaky new and everyone loiked it and the sheep followed suit.

A dove in my personal oppinion represents freedom more because it's white, like you are pure, and it is a symbol of hope.

I believe they both do. A butterfly can be as white as a dove. It depends on your belief system.
