so-called "sad" songs don't affect me anymore? It seems like the only music I can get into now is extreme Metal.

I'm asking because I'm having trouble "connecting" with some music. This problem is new to me.

well,if you aren't into it - then you won't be affected by it. my ex was only into black metal,death metal etc - i on the other hand - have varied taste and listen to literally every genre when the mood strikes me. some songs are sad in extreme metal - but unless you pay attention to the lyrics closely,you won't get it..

perhaps it is because you want something a bit different..i suggest you check out peccatum - their music is emotional,i love them - it may not be your taste tho. the best show i have ever seen was them - i looooove their music.
