When you ovulate the egg only lives for 6-24 hours so by 6 days past ovulation the egg was dead and gone. As long as you are absolutely positive you had ovulated 6 days before then you are completely safe, you aren't pg.

My first question to you is, how do you know you ovulated? Were you using a predictor kit? This is pretty reliable. Were you using FAM (fertility awareness method)? That can be reliable, IF you are monitoring your body very closely. However, if you are stressed, consuming alcohol, or sick any ovulation detection method can be thrown off.

If you are using the good old "Women generally ovulate on day 14 of a 28 day cycle", I'd be concerned. While day 14 is the average, many women can and do ovulate sooner or later than this day.

So, it all comes down to the truth of ovulation. It isn't as exact a number as we might think! If you TRULY did ovulate several days ago, then your body would have already purged or absorbed the unfertilized egg and the likelihood of pregnancy is nil.

Not likely! The only way you could be pregnant is if you miscalculated your ovulation date. You should be fine. Once you ovulate, the egg dies within 24 hours.
